Original Innofader For Sale

Whut up lounge Fam!! I am parting ways with my Innofader. I bought this about two months ago and it has probably a total of 3 hours use on it. (I have a 10 month old who keeps me very busy) I don't get much time to spend behind the decks yo! Family and work take up %99 of time. No complaints.
Anyhow, I wanted to post here first to see if any skratchlounge fam would like to pick it up. I purchased new for $115, I am asking for $60
that is nearly half of what I paid. Don't worry, I will take care of shipping for you. THIS IS USA only (sorry fam across the pond)
You get the innofader, tool to install, insulation, three fader caps, plastic flat head screws to use on the fader plate that goes over the fader, this helps to reduce any feedback from metal against metal, Caig Lube (opened because I used two drops on the inno)
the onlly thing I don't have are those self adhesive washers. Yall know I take good care of my gear and I can tell you this inno is in mint condition. SO here is your chance. Hit me up at jjsnid03@gmail.com if you're interested. Picture below

Tascam XS-8 vs Ecler HAK320

Alright chaps,

Just outta curiosity more than anything else, has anyone ever used both of these mixers, and are they actually the same mixer? Like, are the faders all the same, and sound/build quality ect... or is it more like Squire is to Fender or Epiphone is to Gibson? (cheaper parts/mass produced on a budget) I always was under the impression Ecler really took extra special care making mixers, but have never heard the same about Tascam

I only ask because of the price difference, and I've always liked the Ecler mixers, but never batted an eyelid at a Tascam and theres an XS-8 on the bay for around 1/2 the price you see the HAK320 go for.

anyway... just curious really!

My Behringer NOX404 review

Here's my humble rundown of the Behringer NOX-404

Well it all started when I saw on Skratchworx that there was a new mixer with an effects send-return loop. Out of all of the tradeshow videos, "unboxing" videos, and supposed review videos; not a single one touched on whether or not the effects send-return loop was pre or post fader. Couldn't even download the manual off the manufacturer's website (not that it would have helped, I found out after reading the copy that came with the mixer). After finally contacting Behringer, and receiving some vague answers that somewhat sounded like it was what I was after, I decided to bite the proverbial bullet and buy one (from somewhere I could easily return it of course).

When unboxing it felt sturdy and a bit more solid than other Behringer mixers I'd come across before. The layout seemed appropriate, if maybe just a little cramped. The knobs and faders, while not on par with high end mixers in the least, felt a fair bit better than the price would have called for. So, for under $230(usd), it already seemed like a pretty safe buy.

First up, EXTERNAL EFFECTS LOOOOOOP! While the onboard effects are 'pre' line and crossfader, the external loop is 'post' line and crossfader. It has a great dry/wet fader that goes from 100% dry to 100% wet signal. It is only assignable to channels one and two via switches. Although that's all I really wanted to use it on, more options are always welcome. The connections are dual 1/4" TS for both send and return for stereo routing. It really works perfectly for skratching with the ability to dial in just how much effect you want with the wet/dry fader, especially with reverbs and delays. In all honesty, this is the reason I bought the mixer and I'd be happy if that's all I could do on it, but it really packs a lot more of a punch with its other features.

The onboard effects are surprisingly good quality, on par with some "industry standard" mixer's effects. They are assignable to channels 1 and 2, master, and the microphone input. Pre fader they are, so the delay and reverb aren't very usable for skratching, the flanger, phaser, and filters are. It's controlled by a knob to select source, an on/off button, a cue button to hear the effects through the headphones, a frequency knob that controls the time on time based effects and the actual frequency of the filters, a knob to select the effect, and a tap button to tap your tempo that flashes with the beat. Here's a quick rundown of the onboard effects in the order the knob rotates to them.

2X Copy - allows you to "double up" with only one channel. The knob controls the offset time and the fader works like a cross fader switching between offset copies of the selected channel. Actually a really fun and useful effect for mixing tricks during a set. I've spent more time playing with this than I should.

Tape Echo - delay effect with a bit of a filter on it to give it an "analogue" sound. Not useful for scratching, but if you turn the "intensity" fader all the way 'up', you get a fun little feedback loop that doesn't get out of control.

Echo - your standard, clean digital delay. Also creates a nifty feedback loop when the intensity is all the way up.

Flanger - does what it says. A pretty good sounding flanger that is great for mixing and fun to add a little "spice" to some skratching.

Phaser - like the flanger it is as advertised and with quality on par with the built in effects on 'industry standard' mixers.

Auto Pan - auto pans... I don't have a use for it really, but it works as advertised

LMT DIST - gives a distorted limiting effect that you can control the tone and intensity of. Another very surprisingly useful effect for mixing. Not for all occasions, but a superbly subtle effect when used in an adequate place.

HP Filter - a very good quality highpass filter that you can control the frequency and resonance of. Just be careful to not get carried away with the resonance.

LP Filter - a great lowpass filter that has the same controls as the HP Filter. Both are great fun and useful effects for mixing.

Rev. Reverb - a reverse reverb that is of good quality and does just what it says. I don't use it or the reverb much as I use the post-fader outboard effects for that

Reverb - another surprise with it's quality, but not used much like the Rev. Reverb above.

Vocoder - an interesting effect that adds a "robotic" quality to the sound it's assigned to. Frequency control goes from low pitch to high and intensity acts like a wet/dry fader. Not much use to cut with, and a rarely used effect for mixing; it's a ton of fun on the microphone. Definitely not a must-have effect, but rounds out the selection nicely and is great for some juvenile fun on a microphone.

The EQs were interesting to say the least. They cut all the way to nil and boost about 6db. They take a good bit of getting used to though as they have a pretty sharp curve going from nil up. At first I was a little disturbed, but quickly found they are great for tweaking sounds and really manipulating mixes. There are on/off switches for the EQs that add to the performance quality of their use. Another pleasant surprise.

Faders! The crossfader is the Infinium and works great with an approximately 1mm cut-in space and the obligatory reverse button. A lot lighter and less "solid" of a feel than I'm used to, it has a wicked sharp cut and has adjustable tightness through the faceplate (although you have to remove the fader cap to get to it). A feature I don't really get is the "Mode". In mode A the fader is normal, but in mode B the cut-in point is moved from the edge of the fader to the middle. Interesting.. The line faders are your standard fare, and probably won't last ages; but they're not expensive and more than likely an aftermarket fader will fit in there (although I'm not 100%) sure. They have a countour mini-fader at the sides that goes from very gentle fade to pretty darn sharp. The cut-in space is much longer than the crossfader though. Along with a master channel reverse button that swaps the channels there are reverse buttons for the line faders and they also have a "mode" switch. Their mode B turns them into panning faders, which I don't understand as there are already pan faders for the channels. In use, the line faders are a little too close to the phono/line switches, but a slight adjustment of technique is all that's needed to avoid getting caught up on them.

Oh, the CUE fader goes from channel 1 to 2 per standard, but there is an on/off button that allows you to get the master through the headphones for those late night cut sessions or poor sounding dj booths. With balanced XLR master outs to top it all of.

For the price, I couldn't see myself buying a better all around mixer, especially one that works this well for the skratchers that want to add effects to their sound. No, it's not Rane quality, but it is higher quality than the name and price would let on.

I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap skratching/mixing box.

Options for portable (Carry on) scratch setup.

Hey guys,

I wanted to get your suggestions for options to consider for a portable scratch setup as I may begin to travel a lot for work coming up and spening some time in hotels.

I was considering a Numark V7 and I'm not too sure on compact mixers. Anything smaller than a Vestax PMC 06?

Or am I going about this the wrong way...I have my Numark NS6 and controller backpack that I'm sure could do the trick but it seems more difficult to learn scratch basics on a non-direct drive table.

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated...

Guitar Center Pro Coverage

Back in March I bought a used Numark DXM PRO from Guitar Center, and I also purchased the $15 pro coverage for this mixer. Well I dropped an innofader in it and took out the stock fader and set it aside. I called GC today to ask about getting a new cross fader for the mixer, and they said that rather than give me a new cross fader, they are reimbursing me my cost for the mixer and to keep the mixer (give it to charity or something, is what they said). HUH? All I wanted was a new cross fader
well it looks like the $80 spent on the mixer is coming back to me, so in essance I've just purchased a used DXM PRO for......wait for it.......... FREE!

Rane TTM-57SL faceplate

Hi,

I've recently decided to take the plunge and sell all non-essential electronics/spare mixers/my Traktor Audio8 Sound card ect... and get a Rane 57, second hand, and go Serato.

One question about the Rane, I keep coming across them with 2 different faceplates on them and was wondering if there was any difference, or anything to be aware of?

I'm on a work PC at the moment so cant access any imaging hosting sites to post pics, so I'll give you some links to pictures to see the difference:

1: this one has Lines by all the faders, and a red boarder round the serato section

http://www.cashconverters.co.uk/images-uk/extraLarge/428525extraLarge.jpg

2: This one has a different fader marking on it (imo Rane's own markings?) and no red boarder

http://www.mypay-computers-credit.com/wp-content/uploads/rane-ttm57sl.jpg

Both seem to have the Rane/Serato logos/model numbers in different locations too

Rane and Innofade users.

I used the Rane fader for the first time and loved it.........I now badly want a 56, but as I don't have that kind of money right now I was wondering what the Innofader is like in comparison??

My pro x-fade feels cheap so I thought about swapping an innofader in instead. Obviously I've heard loads of good talk about them.

The fader cap on my pro x is supposed to be a copy of the Rane cap, but I found the Rane to be chunkier. Also the 57 felt buttery but with a little more weight than mine.

I need that sharp cut in my life.

Supacuts.........................don't you have both pro x and Innofader????????????
