In my many years watching some of the best DJ's cut and rock the joint, one of my favorite's has to be DJ Jazzy Jeff. That being said, what do you consider the gold standard sample in which to cut and master?
IMO, it has to be RUN-DMC's "peter piper" - Band meaning bad, but bad meaning good - sample in which the magnificant himself cut's to perfection. I"ve been trying for some time to get the timing right on this cut and still fall short.
To watch Jeff rip this up makes me smile every time.
So, what is your "gold standard" to cut??
