That's awesome. It adds a whole new visual and tactile dimension to music. I could see music performance, creation and production in the future moving beyond just the ears towards a visual language, and probably a tactile one too with stuff like virtual feedback gloves that would actually enable one to physically "feel" the sounds. Check out the Jazz Mutant Lemur controller which is available right now. Check out the video links below.

can't watch the video as i'm at work but is that teh table where you draw in the modules and connections etc... with you finger and control the volume/signal etc.. by rotating your hand etc..?

If so then it's pretty cool, be really interesting in the hands of intuitive musicians who could then develop it into whatever they wanted to do..

For tablists, think about it though no moving parts means no wear and tear, you could create two spining discs with instant pick up create a volume line you break with your fingers and instantly repairs - crossfaer with no moving parts....

sh*ts off the hook...

Imagine SSL running on a big Lemur... putting a finger on the waveform and pulling it back and using it to scratch. Taking it a logical step further, put the waveforms vertically at either side of the screen with a virtual crossfader in the middle. Not quite sure how it would handle a crab though. I feel touchscreen tablism may be quite a way off just yet.

That's sick. I'm speechless. mellow.gif

Lemur looks interesting, too.

Judging by those two pieces of gear, the future of music production is going to be just the way I've always dreamed it will be.
